The National Joint TERT Initiative, LLC (NJTI, LLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Dzoba (FL) to the NJTI, LLC National Committee. Ms. Dzoba will be filling a committee position left vacant following the appointment of Cory Ahrens (WA) to committee co-chair in 2016. Ms. Dzoba’s appointment is effective immediately with a service term ending December 31, 2018.
Ms. Dzoba retired from the City of Ft. Lauderdale after 31 years of service (1976- 2007). She began her career as a telecommunicator, advancing to Senior Telecommunicator and was promoted to the City’s Public Safety Communications Manager in 1995.
Ms. Dzoba is an active member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and served as Florida’s Chapter President and Executive Council Representative. While on the Florida Board of Officers, she worked to develop the Florida member’s assistance program. Developed after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the program provides mutual aid assistance to communications centers. She received the APCO Life Member Award in 2005. In 2007 she was recognized by the National Number Association (NENA) as an Emergency Number Professional (ENP).
